~~**Altered Plate Project**~~

Hi Craft Peeps!!!...
The weekend is here... YAY!!... My post today is an Altered Plate I did for an exchange. First one I have ever done too! It was alot of fun, but BOY.... I sure had a hard time deciding on what to do. In addition this is my first post for CraftingFamily.com. I am thier newest edition to the Design Team. Christine, the owner is a wonderful and compassionate person who cares about her customers. CraftingFamily.com offers an array of scrapbooking supplies and hand crafted items such as scrapped composition notebooks, bible bags, thermal coffee cup sleeves, and doggy day mats - all handmade by their family and/or friends.

~~**~~**~~**~~

For my altered plate...
I printed out an image from the internet... I love things about sewing... I don't sew, but love anything to do with it! I first began by appling gesso to the plate... then using spray inks by Inkadinkadoo, I spayed in various areas and just blended them. I torn aound the edges of the image and then distressed the edges using Tim Holtz' Vintage Photo distressing ink. After everything had dried I mod podged the image onto the plate. Curling up the corners of the image (in these areas I kept reappling mod podge in between dry times to really stiffen it up. I then applies mod podge all over the plate to seal everything in. Next I added a vaiety of mulberry flowers and stamens, lace applicades onto either side of the image, mulberry leaves, a thimble. Ribbon flowers and some beautiful sewing theme charms both from The Crafting Family Shoppe...
I hope you enjoy my project...

~~**Mason Jar Project**~~

Howdy Crafters...
Today I have a Mason Jar I have altered up with a twist....
I did a "Theme" with it... a SEWING JAR!!

I don't sew a stitch..No Pun Intended!, but I LOVE anything to do with or about sewing.
Now, I adore Mason Jars. They aren't to expensive to craft with or decorate with ... and you can find them all day long at yard sales. They make a great centerpiece. In fact we used them for my daughter's wedding last year... sat them on old books that I roughed up with sand paper and they were too cute! Simple, yet elegant. I hope you enjoy taking a view of my little creation...

The image of the spool I found and printed off the internet, cut it out,
distressed the edges and added it to the front of the jar. Added lace,
trim, mulberry flowers, a feather, ribbon, charms, a rolled paper flower
and some gorgeous stick pins my daughter made. BEAUTIFUL Bling from
Angela Holt Designs BLING SPLENDOR line.

~~**Easy Peasy Bookmarks**~~

Happy Tuesday Everyone....

Today I have some FuN Bookmarks I have done using
several AWESOME products from PINQUE PEACOCK!!!

This project was inspired by a PINTREST Idea...
to check out what inspired me you can check them out {{{HERE}}} at
Really Reasonable Ribbon's Rambling... THANK YOU for the inspiration :)

Now I went by their measurements for the ribbon
which was 17", along with their suggestion of a pony tail holder
and from there I added my own flair!!

The one on the left I used the Layered Garden Beauty and simply hot glued it to the lace and then used a pony tail holder at the opposite end just flipping the end of the lace up just enough to hot glue the end... I AM NOT A SEWER so hot glue works for me...lol!!!... Yet allowing enough give for the pony tail holder to still move freely... Then I repeated the same way with the one on the right this time using the 1.5" Fabric Covered Button from PINQUE PEACOCK and ribbed ribbon... BUT WAIT... see those pretty stick pins?!?!?... well the one on the right my daughter made using some of the BEAUTIFUL beads from PINQUE PEACOCK's awesome "Bead Buffet" ... where you can purchase your very own beads to create with!!!

This one I did the same way using the Large Felt Popper from PINQUE PEACOCK... I love these... you can them in three different sizes and quantities... you can also get them with or without 3/4" fabric covered button centers... So many options and fabric options you can choose from!!! The Pearl Beaded Stick Pin here is PINQUE PEACOCK's Elderberry Medley Stick Pin Set.

Here they are again.... I hope make yourself
some awesome way cool easy bookmarks!!!

And stop by PINQUE PEACOCK for all the AWESOME
sales that is going on all month long!!!

Hi all you Bling Chronicles fans! I am so thrilled to be a DT member for Angela and can’t wait to share all my blinged out art work with you. First let me tell you a little about who I am as a designer and crafter.
I grew up in the military and traveled around a lot. We relied heavily on our family for entertainment as such. My dear sweet mother loved to craft and taught us all kinds of different mediums. She taught my sisters how to sew, though I never caught that bug and can’t sew a straight stitch! She painted and tried to teach us a love for drawing, I’m not very good at that either LOL. She taught us ceramics, macramé, ornament making, and all sorts of other crafty goodness. I was very blessed to grow up with a creative mom.
My dad could fix or make anything. He passed some of those genes on to me and last year I created a whole new back yard complete with a waterfall feature, covered bar with an outdoor refrigerator and grilling area, and a slate and glass tiled patio surface. A little assistance was given by my family when I needed an extra set of hands but basically I created it on my own. I think I burned the satellites out with all the calls for advice to my dad.
I have two fabulous (most of the time) children ages 20 and 17 who are both talented artists in their own right. I’ve always tried to encourage that as I think it’s a corner stone in life. It saddened me to see schools pulling art out of the curriculum as it really enhances education and just your view on life in general. I feel lucky to be able to help my kids still have that outlet at home. I also have a 10 month old foster grandchild who consumes a lot of my time but I am loving it! She’s such a sweet baby.
What I’m trying to say is that I LOVE to craft, anything, anywhere, anytime! I don’t have a particular specialty necessarily, but crafting with paper is my favorite medium.
Thanks so much for giving me the chance to share with you and I hope you enjoy looking at, and maybe getting some inspiration from, my pieces. You can find more of my art by visiting my blog,

I am a sahm ( Stay at home MOM) with a ton of kids.4 from a previous marriage, 2 step and 3 from my current marriage. Yes I am a little insane, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I have 2 dogs (they are pitbull/bullmastiff mixes) Cin and Tink and we have 2 Tortoises named Neptune and Turk and about 20 fish all named after Harry Potter characters. My husband, Shad, is the love of my life and the heart of my existence, without him there would be no me. We have been together for 14 years. We have survived the good and the bad and it has only brought us closer together. I have a serious scrapbooking addiction, I guess that also mean I have a photo obsession too because i have to have something to scrap, right?! My kids all insist that they are being followed by the paparazzi. They joke about taking out a restraining order against me. Happy crafting

This project is inspired by many... and I have decorated in the colors for this month's CHALLENGE at The Bling Chronicles... A Color Challenge! Please stop and check it out and join in!!!

Now onto my project... Here is a before shot of the jewelry box!

I used Gesso and painted it.... next I "sealed" it with Mod Podge all over.
I did some deco podge on the drawers using the Life Abloom Printable Journal from
Tsunami Rose Designs. Added some ribbon and beaded trim around the edges.
On the back I added a piece of the Bella Bling Splendor Collection.
Then I took corrugated cardstock and wrapped around on side... tearing it to
give it a shabby look. On the top I added an aray of mulberry flowers
& leaves. beads, pearls, seimans ,a resin rose and a crown charm. On the knobs
I attached the Elizabeth Bling Splendor Collection from AHD. The next
thing I added was a piece from the Angela Holt Designs July Product Review Kit...
a metal Shabby Chic Rose... I took the clips off of and attached them to
the side of the jewelry box for photos. These vintage photos are from Dare's Designz.
To the bottom I added these cute pearl beads for feet.... are you ready????
