Hello crafty peoples...
Back again with another project for Gone Artsy!
If you haven't stopped by the store yet... you don't know what you're missing!!!
GORGEOUS products at AWESOME prices... and if you do Bridal or Floral...
this is the place for you. The products are just stunning!
This month is all about the Kentucky Derby...
WHOOP WHOOP... I am super excited cause this happens right here in my hometown!
The one thing ya think of when you here Kentucky Derby, besides the horses are the fabulous and wacky hats... yes we see some very strange one...lol!
Being from here we also see a lot of Derby themed weddings.
Folks take this opportunity to REALLY celebrate on the first Saturday in May!
For my project today I done a Fascinator... GREAT for someone who really isn't into wearing a huge hat, but wantes to be apart of that Derby experience... or great if you are a guest attending a Derby Wedding... in addition to a great head piece for the bridal party.
With Henrietta's help here... that's my Styrofoam heads name... hehehehe...
I used a shoulder pad for the base...
that's right... if you held onto those 80's shoulder pads...
where here is a great way to use them!
I covered it using the foofy flowers from the
Deep Ivory Lace and Chiffon Flower Collar - GA700... saving the beautiful lace for another project.
Next I added in both the Two Toned Curly Nagorie Goose Feather Pad - Ivory/Brown (GA103) and the Champagne Ostrich Feather Trim (GA151). I also attached in some netting that I saved.. it had marbles in it. I just played with it and moved it about till I had it where I wanted it. then I added the beautiful Pearl and Rhinestone Embellishment (GA113). I had taken apart a Five Row Pearl and Rhinestone Stretch Bracelet (GA218) sometime ago for another project and saved the left over pearls and rhinestones for future projects. Well, I decided to place some of the pearls randomly on the foofy flowers from the collar.
Then I attached one of Large Clear Hair Combs - Set of 2 (GA216) to the back.
You could also use the Silver Toned DIY Headband (GA213) or the Gold Toned DIY Headbands (GA212)... if you prefer a barrette... no worries... you can also find Silver Toned DIY Barrettes - Set of 2 (GA215) in the shop!!
